<datacite:description xml:lang="en" descriptionType="Abstract">The utilization of methane (CH4) by oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) poses a challenge in achieving selective partial oxidation of CH4 while minimizing undesired complete oxidation, underlining the importance of finding suitable catalysts. The study investigates different catalysts, in particular ceria with various transition metals and alkali metals, to improve the catalytic performance at low temperatures. The study shows that a combination of 33% manganese and 15% calcium in a ceria catalyst has the highest activity, although the overall C2 yield remains low compared to high-temperature processes. The study highlights the potential of OCM in environmental applications and its importance in regions such as Indonesia with abundant methane resources.</datacite:description>
