This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of using spaced repetition with flashcards and gif animations (referred to as Pvgifs) with online extracurricular activities through a university platform (Moodle) in learning PVs. First-year university students in Japan participated in this study and learned 60 PVs over one academic semester using flashcards and activities. The activities included three types of task: gap-filling, translation, and gap-filling + PVgifs.
