The study investigates different catalysts, in particular ceria with various transition metals and alkali metals, to improve the catalytic performance at low temperatures. The study shows that a combination of 33% manganese and 15% calcium in a ceria catalyst has the highest activity, although the overall C2 yield remains low compared to high-temperature processes.
